Pancake Optics
Different from the single optical amplification principle of Fresnel lens, the optical path design of Pancake folded optical path design is more complex, and also makes its internal structure more plastic, mainly reflected in the selection of lens scheme, film and material. When Pancake folded optical path is used in VR, it can overcome many problems of traditional Fresnel lens and aspheric lens, especially on the volume change of VR head display, and can almost achieve 1/2 or even thinner of traditional optical scheme.
